So what are we to expect from this vague suggestion that a brand new Salesforce will be revealed on August 25th?

“16 years, 48 product releases, thousands of features, millions of happy users — it’s been an incredible journey. Together, we’ve changed business for the better and brought innovation to life. We’re excited to share with you that our upcoming release will be our biggest, best, most game changing ever. And you are invited to an exclusive, early preview.

Tune in to Salesforce LIVE on August 25th at 4PM PDT to witness the unveiling of a whole new Salesforce and hear from top executives, product managers, customers, MVPs and partners on what exactly makes the new Salesforce awesome. Even better, join one of our 100+ global viewing parties in a city near you.”

Judging from the panel of presenters it is definitely related to the Sales Cloud, but that doesn’t suggest much. It is interesting how their recent Trailhead marketing efforts seem to be closely tied to this announcement as well, but it would take a much more insightful person than myself to derive anything useful from that acknowledgement.

I honestly don’t know if I should be excited or concerned, I think the last time they made such a suggestion they released Salesforce Touch, which was an anti-climax.

There was also an announcement this week around new features being rolled out to the Community Cloud related to E-Commerce, a buy button of sorts which can be added to community sites, interesting.
